We provide face-to-face and telehealth/online counselling appointments for women in NSW.

Our specialist counsellors take a holistic, trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to help support women navigate their feelings and needs.

Women Partners counselling can support women with:

  • For some women, they need to process the shock of their husband’s sexual identity or sexual behaviour changing

  • For some who were aware of his same sex attraction, maybe they need to make sense of what this means for their relationship and its boundaries

  • Some need to work through feelings of betrayal, grief and loss if there has been infidelity

  • Some need to safely process what this means for them, their lives and their future, and their relationships

  • Some need support in speaking with their children, friends and family

  • Some need to unpack the grief they feel at potentially losing their relationship with their loved husband

  • Some need one person in the world to talk to about their experiences as a Woman Partner

  • Some want to join support groups and the Women Partners Client Advisory Group, to be connected and seen by others with similar lived experiences

Whatever the need is, our counsellors are here to provide safe, judgement-free, women-centred counselling and support.

Referrals:

Women are required to self-refer for counselling with Women Partners. Professionals, partners and friends can let women know of our service, but we request that women contact Women Partners for therapeutic support when they feel they are in need, and able to work with a counsellor.

Cost:

All counselling sessions are free.

Service provision:

Counselling is always needs and goal-focused. For some, it can take 1-2 sessions to meet their need, whilst others may need much longer. There is no limit to how many sessions you can attend with Women Partners counsellors.  However, if your needs are more aligned with other services, Women Partners may refer you to alternate services to meet your ongoing needs. This can include relationship counselling, domestic and family violence counselling, mental health or trauma processing counselling. You are always welcome to re-contact Women Partners for this specialist support.

Counsellors:

All of our counsellors are registered with either the Australian Counselling Association or the Australian Association of Social Workers.
